Two San Diego homeowners have found out that flood damage to a home is not dependent upon a storm. Their houses were damaged when a 20-year-old man crashed his truck into a nearby fire hydrant, causing a geyser that flooded one of the homes in early August. THE AFTERMATH
With the geyser spewing into the air after the 1:30 a.m. accident, huge amounts of water fell into the backyards of the two homeowners. The water triggered a small landslide in one backyard and eventually flooded the kitchen and living room. What stings is that the kitchen had been remodeled just six months before the accident. Thankfully, crew members with the Poway Fire Department were able to shut off the water within about a half-hour. As we go to press with this article, a financial estimate of the damage to the two properties has yet to be confirmed. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, CALL A PROFESSIONAL RESTORATION PROFESSIONAL Regardless of how large or small you think the water damage may actually be, it can lead to property damage and health risks it is left untreated.
