WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A PRESSURE WASHER

Picture
Pressure washing your home or business is a great way to remove dirt and mildew that’s built up over time. But there’s a bit more you need to know about pressure washing and how to do it, or else you risk causing major issues that will need to be corrected.

In this issue, we’ll talk about which pressure washer is best – electric or gas – and some pitfalls to avoid if you’re thinking of doing it yourself.
WHICH PRESSURE WASHER SHOULD I BUY OR RENT, GAS OR ELECTRIC?

It depends upon what the job is.
  • Gas-powered pressure washers are ideal for quickly cleaning decks, siding and other large areas. They’re also good for washing away tough stains. The pull-starting and fuel-mixing can be a drag, though.
  • Electronic pressure washers are good for smaller areas, like patios and furniture. They start and stop with a trigger but they have lower pressured water…plus you need to be near an outlet for use.

WHAT’S THE WORST THAT CAN HAPPEN IF I DO THE JOB MYSELF?

There’s actually quite a bit of damage that can happen if you don’t know what you’re doing, including:
  • Getting water in your house or attic or walls
  • Damaging the siding on your home
  • Removing paint
  • Damaging the windows

WHEN SHOULD I LET A PROFESSIONAL DO THE PRESSURE WASHING?

While you may be able to handle more manageable pressure washing tasks like a deck or one-story house, for bigger jobs it just makes sense to call on a professional.

Bigger jobs require heavier and more powerful equipment – and the professional cleaners already have that equipment.

They also have the knowledge on how to deal with hard-to-reach areas without falling and have expertise in cleaning areas like house roofs without causing damage.
