Other Potentially Infectious Material (OPIM)

J&M Keystone, Inc. wants to keep you protected from all infectious material, including materials other than blood, which pose a potential health risk. Some of these include:

  1. The following human body fluids: semen, vaginal secretions, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, pleural fluid, pericardial fluid, peritoneal fluid, amniotic fluid, saliva in dental procedures, any body fluid that is visibly contaminated with blood, and all body fluids in situations where it is difficult or impossible to differentiate between body fluids;
  2. Any unfixed tissue or organ other than intact skin from a human living or dead;
  3. All human or primate cell or tissue cultures, organ cultures, and cell lines including established, continuous cell lines;
  4. HIV or HBV containing culture medium or other solutions: blood, organs, or other tissues from experimental animals infected with HIV or HBV should be considered potentially infectious;
  5. Blood or body fluids of animals that have been intentionally, or are suspected of having been, exposed to pathogens in research, in production of biologicals, in the in vivo testing of pharmaceuticals, or in other procedures.
