Infection Control

​Every time anything happens in a hospital—from a flood, to a remodel, to a new construction—that area needs to be isolated from the rest of the hospital and usually needs to be negative air introduced. The Center for Disease Control recommends construction crews are provided with:
​

• Designated entrances, corridors, and elevators wherever practical
• Essential services (e.g., toilet facilities) and convenience services (e.g., vending machines)
• Protective clothing (e.g., coveralls, footgear, and headgear) for travel to patient-care areas
• A space for anteroom for changing clothing and storing equipment
